Home Based Manager – FULL TIME

Responsible for management of the Family and Children’s Services Home Based program option which includes comprehensive services to Families with children five and under (i.e. early childhood education, development health, nutrition, mental health, and family services). Oversees implementation of program standards through monitoring and supervision of Home Visitors, participation in regular supervisory meetings, monitoring to ensure exceptional services are provided and that federal requirements of Head start Performance Standards. Minimum BA/S degree in ECE, Human Services or a related field. Must have experience in supervising and managing similar types of services.   

Disabilities Specialist – Full Time

Is the content expert for Disability Services and is responsible for providing ongoing monitoring and support for the Head Start (HS) and Early Head Start (EHS) Center and Home Based environments to ensure exceptional services are provided and that program requirements are being met. Summary of basic duties:

Oversees the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of disabilities services for program participants (children ages zero to five).  

• Oversees implementation of developmental screenings for all enrolled children; ensures accountability of mandatory screening requirements. 

• Completes referrals to appropriate LEAs for children needing comprehensive assessment and/or evaluation. 

• Responsible for collaborating with the public schools, childcare programs, community agencies, regarding transition of HS and EHS children.

• Manages the program responsibility as it relates to IEPs IFSPs.

• Develops, coordinates, and provides training and guidance on disability services for children and effective ways for staff and parents to work with and support young children.

• Conducts ongoing monitoring and observations of classrooms to ensure quality services are being provided and meets regularly with classroom teams to review classroom observations and develop and implement plans as needed.

• Meets with families to consult on child and family needs, create or follow-up on plans to support these needs.

• Oversees the screening and assessment of children with special needs including IEPs and IFSPs.

A Bachelor’s degree in ECE with a focus or a related field is required. Must have a minimum of three years professional expertise in serving the needs of young children with disabilities (ages zero to five) and families. Knowledge and understanding of infant and early childhood development. Knowledge and application in the various aspects of Head Start/Early Head Start standards and requirements is preferred. Travel required to all Child Development Centers. Main Location: Newport, NC.

Home Visitor – FULL TIME

Responsible for building positive relationships with infants, toddlers, and/or preschoolers and their families within their home environments by including parents in the development of child and family goals, lessons and activities that promote child and parent learning and development.  Responsible for planning with parent’s involvement, learning activities to be implemented during weekly home visits. Develops and provides socializations that facilitate parent-child involvement in learning activities that are developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive, honor individual beliefs, and promote learning in all domains. Guides and facilitates the learning process to achieve curriculum and parent established goals. Administers developmental screenings and ongoing assessments. A Bachelor’s Degree Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred with two or more years related experience.  Must have knowledge and experience in Child Development and Early Childhood Education; principles of child health, safety, and nutrition; adult learning principles; and family dynamics. Must have training (or have equivalent coursework) in Early Child Development with a focus on infant and toddler development. Must be skilled in communicating with and motivating people. Must have knowledge of community resources and the skills to link families with appropriate agencies and services.

TEACHERS & Teacher Aides HEAD START– Full-Time

Responsibilities include: The overall operation of a preschool classroom in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and North Carolina Child Care Regulations.  This includes planning, coordinating, and supervising a classroom environment that promotes each child's total development (i.e. social, physical, emotional, cognitive and nutritional) while promoting positive, open communication with parents and children.

Requirements:

Teacher Aides - CDA or A.A. in Early Childhood (EC) or a degree in a related filed with course work equivalent to a degree in EC.

Teachers - A.A required or B.A. preferred in Early Childhood or a degree in a related filed with course work equivalent to a degree in EC.  NC Pre k Teachers must also have a Pre K Add-on or BK Licensure.   

Network Technician

Responsible for providing desktop support to end-users at both local and multiple remote locations in a courteous, professional and efficient manner. Will perform maintenance, problem analysis and resolution of IT equipment, local area network and software problems. Will provide help desk support functions for software applications, answering user/client questions, troubleshooting problems and providing solutions. Will assist in areas including, but not limited to, user management, server backups and network equipment procurement. This is a hands-on position. Requirements: Preferred Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems and two or more years experience. Professional experience with; Microsoft/SQL server environment including Active Directory and Exchange; network infrastructure; Microsoft Office 365; computer installation; maintenance and repair experience. Main Location in Newport, NC.

HS Classroom FloaterS – Full-Time

Responsibilities include: providing quality childcare to children ages zero thru four. When classroom teaching staff is absent, the position is assigned as a substitute for the duration of the absence. When not substituting, the individual will work equally in each classroom providing additional teacher support to the existing teaching teams. Requirements: North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials, and a Criminal Record Check Qualification Letter from the Division of Health and Human Services.

Child care Provider – Part-time & Full-Time

Responsibilities include: providing quality childcare to children ages zero thru four, development and implementation of curriculum and weekly lesson plans, maintaining a daily schedule with a predictable routine, ensuring a healthy and safe environment, and promoting positive, open communication with parents and children. Requirements: Early Childhood Credentials and experience teaching children ages zero thru four.   Location: Carteret, Craven and Pamlico County.

Bus Driver- Part time

Responsible for transporting children to and from Child Development Center. Position involves non-traditional part-time work hours.  Requirements: Must have North Carolina CDL, school bus and passenger endorsement, and an excellent driving record.  Split Shift.
